Leigh Academies Trust has gone from strength to strength since its creation in 2008 and is now one of the country’s most successful multi-academy trusts.
Through a model of education that creates a network of inspirational and inclusive academies that share the same values, the Trust provides the drive for outstanding educational improvement and dynamic transformation. All of the academies work closely and collaboratively together and with our partners, seeking to exploit the key educational philosophy of human-scale education. To maximise levels of achievement across each of our learning communities, all activities are focused on improving the life chances of the young people in our care.
Currently comprising 29 academies educating around 15,000 students, the Trust is developing four ‘clusters’ of academies: Northwest Kent; Central Kent, Medway and Southeast London. The Trust is committed to seeking and creating new initiatives that allow all learners the opportunity to achieve the very best outcomes. This has recently seen the widespread adoption of mobile devices as a learning tool across academies, both primary and secondary, and LAT has become a world leader in the use of such technology. LAT also leads Kent and Medway Training, which trains over 100 new teachers per year.
Citizens of the 21st century live and work within a dynamic, technological and global environment. The Trust continually strives to provide, for all its learners and the communities that it serves, an outstanding learning experience that enables everyone to thrive and successfully access the best possible employment, social and leisure opportunities.
