We would like to congratulate our pupils for their achievements today in their GCSEs and equivalent qualifications across fifteen secondary academies.
Nationally results appear to have come down slightly from 2023 towards the levels seen pre-pandemic in 2019. Despite the national trend, the picture in Leigh Academies Trust (LAT) is that pupils’ attainment is better than last year. This increase is also on the basis of our pupils following an even more demanding and academic curriculum this year with 55% of them now studying the full EBacc.
We have been working hard today to support pupils into their next steps. For most of them it will be further study in one of LAT’s post-16 centres which offer a diverse range of Level 3 qualifications.
As well as commending our pupils we would also like to thank our talented and hard-working staff, and the support we receive from parents. Without this combination, we would not have so much to celebrate today.
